This post from Dhruv talks in detail about the Management Science and Engineering Masters program at Stanford University. This follows his earlier post on how MS&E program
It’s a tough job trying to summarize the Management Science and Engineering (MS&E) Program in a few words. I can boldly say that it is not perfectly equivalent to any of the programs found at other Universities. It must, therefore, be understood in terms of its constituent courses and the ultimate goal that Stanford wishes to achieve with this eclectic combination of Management and Engineering courses.
The variety of courses on offer makes the MS&E program highly customizable to suit the student’s preferred specialization in wide array of technical, management and techno-management fields. Each …

We asked him why he chose to go to this university, how he was funding himself and what avenues he saw after his masters. Recently i have received a larger than expected number of emails and queries as to what it takes to get into stanford. Here is a very short analysis of what it takes to get into a Masters program at Stanford in …

I actually think that I am quite an emotional human being. But usually I try to hide that from people. But somehow I couldnt control emotions after i watched this lecture given by CMU Prof. Randy Pausch. I personally think that this lecture was the best I have ever seen. A brief back ground on the story - Prof. Randy Pausch is one the nation’s leading authorities on Virtual World Technology, an expert in HCI and Software Engineering.
He was recently diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and has about 5-6 months of good health left. I think everyone has a lesson to learn from his talk. He gave a talk in a series which was called - “the Last Lecture” - if …

I generally prefer to have interest provocating titles to my articles in order to encourage people to read through them. But let me warn you at the outset that if you are looking for a procedural way of putting together a good application packet, this article is NOT going to help you at all. The hard fact is that an application is only as good as the person who is evaluating the application thinks it is good. The only chance of a grad school aspirant is to prepare an application that is more likely to be evaluated by more people as good, which, in itself is a pretty daunting task.
The following discussion holds more or less both for students who …
