We have seen quite often how the Independence Day is celebrated at schools and colleges in India - as kids or as college students. But this post is about how independence day is celebrated at US Universities. Indian Independence day. I was invited to the Stanford India Association’s Aug 15th celebrations at their on campus facility - the Graduate Community Center. The event was high in attendance - about 100 people from different walks of like - different departments - different work backgrounds assembled on campus to partake in flag hoisting, watching enchanting song and dance performances and the movie - Rang De Basanti. Food was ordered on the behest of Stanford India Association from local indian restaurants. Here are some pictures:
