Hi,

I am a bit confused in selecting the course which I should opt for MS. I want to be in the technical side and not much inclined to get into managerial side.
What are the job prospects after doing MS in CS and getting job here in India..and please highlight the same with MIS.

I am not able to decide what should I opt for CS or MIS ?

I have already got admits from two colleges for Spring 09 from California for MS in CS..but I deferred the admission for fall 09 and now I have an option to apply for some other colleges too..but m not sure should I apply for MS in CS, Software Engg or MIS or Information and Management.

Hi folks,

With the current market scenario is there any chance that the opportunities for MIS graduates will diminish?
Also I have got review from friends that even CS grads can into position like consultants or BA or PMs so does that mean choosing MIS is like narrowing down once scope ?
From the overall readings I get a feeling that MIS is considered somewhat inferior (may be this is not the correct word) ? Is this true?
I am not able to decide what should I opt for CS or MIS ?

Hi ajay - to know a more detailed version of what your chances at univs are - go to: www.kaaledge.com/univ-recommendation/

however - in short - try looking for MIS courses at CMU, Gatech, North Eastern, etc..CMU has one of the best MIS programs

Hi,

I'm a B.E. in I.T. and I've got a work ex of almost 2 years now and I plan to apply for the Fall 2009 session. I've scored 1210 on my GRE. Please suggest if there's a point applying to universitites like Carnegie Mellon. If not, what should be the universities that I can consider "safe" for MIS.

Appreciate your help.

Thanks,
Piyush.
