Management of Information Systems is a course which is pretty popular among a lot of foreign students in the US. We had the chance to meet an MIS graduate from CMU’s MISM program - Sudeep Agarwal. Sudeep works for Oracle now and has taken the time to talk with kaalEDGE.com and shares his experiences from the CMU program in MIS and his insights from the application process.

CMU has many varied sub departments within its CS and EE departments. One such department in LTI - which is the Language Technologies Institute. What goes on here? What sort of students make it here? And what are the funding opportunities for students who come for a Masters or PhD? We spoke with a current student - who wished to remain anonymous for this post. We talked to her about what MIS is all about, the career opportunities after it and what is the difference between an MIS and MS. Here is Sudipti with her views.

I actually think that I am quite an emotional human being. But usually I try to hide that from people. But somehow I couldnt control emotions after i watched this lecture given by CMU Prof. Randy Pausch. I personally think that this lecture was the best I have ever seen. A brief back ground on the story - Prof. Randy Pausch is one the nation’s leading authorities on Virtual World Technology, an expert in HCI and Software Engineering.
